Hand Coloring

I think a good hand coloring is something that does not simply add color but helps to show what the photographer was focused on and how they view the world, bringing atention to the points they find important.
I tried to use somewhat simple pictures for hand coloring, with large spaces so it would be a bit easier. I decied to only color some portions of my prints to draw atention to what might be ignored otherwise.
I was happy with the way my prints turned out, though I wish I had done better at staying inside the borders.

Cross Processing

Cross processing is when slide film is processed as negitive film, causing a color shift. A goood cross processed print has interesting subjects, composition, and colors.
For my cross processing project I looked for objects with interesting or bright colors. I am happy with my cross processed prints and I like the way the reds and greens show/ shifted.

Solarization

Sorlarization works best with reflections or high contrast pictures. Thesepictures are important to keep simple because the solarizing can become too dark or confusing if there is too much in the picture. For my solarized pictures I looked around for "shiny things". I am happy with the way my glasses turned out but I wish there were more mackey lines around the words on the ballon.

Polaroid Transfers

A good polaroid transfer has and interesting subject and good colors with minimal lift off.
For my pictures I used lovefest preformers in bright clothing. I was happy with how my pictures turned out and I liked the colors and effect.

Layers

This picture has 6 layers. Though the layers somewhat overlap each other I like the way they create a sort of visual trench down the middle.

This picture has 5 layers. None of the layers intersect but I like the way the reflection adds extra depth.

This picture has 4 layers. The leaves and the person sort of intersect but the leaves help to frame her face. I like the idea and "fall-ness" this picture has.

This picture has 4 layers. Noe of the layers intesect and the landscape is somewhat framed by the skirt. The stripes on the skirt also help to add visual layers. I like the colors and composition in this picture.

3200 speed film

I chose these two pictures because I like the lighting and composition. In the first picture I like the way her eye is framed by the shadows to draw atention to it. The second picture is interisting because the main subject is the helmet but there is another statue in the background. I also lik e the black border in the second picture.
I used a 1600 ISO when shooting this film. I was not entirely happy with the lighting on my pictures because one of them was somewhat off in color and the other had such direct light that it was blown out. Though the grain in this film can sumetimes add effect/ mood it can also make the pictures look sadder.

First Roll of Film Reaction

I was pretty happy with the pictures fom my first roll of film this semester. The subjects were my friend, Ryvkah, and my dog. I like the settings and the was Rykah is posed in her picture, as well as the snow contrast in the dog picture. This semester I want to improve on dodging and burning as well as making my pictures mome atention grabing.
