Critique of roll 12 (portraits)

I am very happy with this portrait. I like the setting and the way she is posed. The rain and streaks on the window are also really cool.

Portraits

I like this picture because I like the fact that there is an old chair in the woods

I like how the subject is rather small in this picture, not just big and centered

I like the framing on the eyes here

I lke the way this picture fades out and the focus on the eyes

I like the perspective here

i like the edges and perspective in this picture

I like the way that everything other than the subject is faded in this picture

I like the setting/ lighting in this picture

I like the sideways perspective and the location in this picture

I like that the subject here is seen through a window

Lighting notes

Going against light meter:
Lightmeter makes everything middle gray
If subject is dark UNDERexpose (faster shutter/ wider apture)
If subject is light OVERexpose (slower shutter/ smaller apture)

A great portrait has....

Natural expresions/ poses
Interesting lighting
Non-distracting background
Interesting poses
Was fun to take.

National Gerographic

Composition techniques:
1. Shadows
2. Rule of thirds
3. S curves
4. Suprise pictures
5. Side lighting

My favorite photographer was that guy who took the picture with the kids and the horse because he seemed to take pictures more of what was there, not something posed.

My favorite picture was the aforementioned horse photo because I really liked the wind in that picture.

Lots of the pictures used composition things that we learned in class. A lot of the pictures used rule of thirds and one (that one with the girl on a swing) had someone with an extreme S curve.

Critique of roll 10 (positive/negitive)

I was pretty happy with  the way this turned out, though there are a few things that could be better. First, there are a few spots on one of the pictures, probably because the paper had something on it. Second, the edges are somewhat uneven because I did not know that I should have used the paper cutter.

Critique of roll 9 (framing)

I am pretty happy with this picture. I was happy that I managed to burn it in properly and I love the intensity in her eye. However, iI feel like it is missing something, it's just not as interesting as some of my other photos. Maybe it's the location.

Framing

I like the tunnel quality in the framing here

I like how the reflection of the could on the water creates the frame here

I believe he may be looking through a fence

I like the alomost-bridge in the rock and the single cloud here

There is a sense of adventure in this picture

Citique or roll 8 (hands and feet)

I am verry happy with this photo. I like how the way her hands are makes her seem rather sad but the drawings are so fun. It's a bit confusing.

Hands and Feet

I really like the contrast in this picture

I like how this picture gets dark on the edges and hepls show the focus

Matching hoddies is a sure sighn of love. I think I might have that same jacket though, so it could just be a sign of shopping prefrance.

Otters are adorable.

I like the way the hands are positioned in this picture

Conveying a Message

I like how perspective is used in this picture
I like this picture because of the wat her scarf is picked up by the wind

I like this picture because the lines make it seem more intense

I like tigers

I like the way that most of this picture is black and white but one part has such bright color
